The Friday session was punctuated by the Trainee Award Presentations. Congratulations to all of the resident and fellow presenters who shared many great cases. The cases were stimulating as they were thought-provoking and helped educate all that were in the audience. The trainee award session started with Drs. Laurence A. Jannuzzi and Andre J. Witkin announcing the best 10 case presentations. With a total of 54 trainee case presentations, the best 10 presenters were the following:
- Lauren Colwell from University of Massachusetts for her presentation on Castleman Disease
- Conq Phan from Dartmouth for his presentation on Vitamin B-12 Deficiency
- Omar Abu-Qamar from Tufts University for his presentation on KIF11 Syndrome
- Rusdeep Muntae from New York University for his presentation on MFRP Syndrome
- Shravan Savant from Lahey for his presentation on Hansen’s Disease
- Ines Lains from Massachusetts Eyes and Ear Infirmary for her presentation on Herpetic Choroidal Vitiligo
- Landon Rohowetz from Bascom Palmer Eye Institute for his presentation on Silicone Retinopathy
- Yariv Keshet from Vitreous Retina Macula Consults of New York for his presentation on Best’s Disease with Associated Macular Hole
- Tianyu Liu from Scheie for his presentation on Germinoma Associated Uveitis
- Asad F. Durrani from Wills Eye Hospital for his presentation on Congenital Rubella Retinopathy
These participants were awarded a textbook as well as a special issue of RETINA called the Best of Yanuzzi’s Rounds. Once again, congratulations to the above presenters and to all of the trainees who took part in this year’s Atlantic Coast Retina Club 2023.
